ABOUT CELINE

PROJECT

BACKGROUND

objectives

Energy communities are reshaping the energy landscape, enabling citizens, businesses, and local authorities to co-manage renewable energy resources. However, they face barriers such as limited market access, a lack of digital tools, and fragmented data. The transition to a digital energy system presents benefits and challenges. Public concerns about data management and integration of energy data across sectors highlight the need for clear regulatory and technical frameworks.

The EU-funded project CELINE is developing a user-friendly harmonised digital framework to support local energy production, consumption, and market participation, empowering communities with better energy management tools.
